The library catalogue provides access to the library resources of the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts which includes the Central Library in the John Gorton Building and the Australian National Botanic Gardens Library.
The collections are available for use by students, researchers and members of the public provided that prior arrangements are made. The libraries are open business hours Monday to Friday.
The Central Library has an extensive collection of material on the environment: with emphasis on environmental policy, air quality, biodiversity, chemicals, coasts and marine, environmental impact assessment, forests, greenhouse, heritage, national parks, state of the environment, sustainable industry and threatened species.
The Australian National Botanic Gardens (ANBG) Library has an internationally significant collection of botanical material. The library collection includes material on botany, horticulture, plant conservation, biodiversity, orchids, cryptogams and ecology.
