Message from DEWHA Secretary Robyn Kruk, AM
I welcome the findings of the Faulkner Review into the procurement and contract management aspects of the Green Loans Program.
The Faulkner Review was initiated by me at the instruction of Minister Garrett. The Minister requested an independent external inquiry once he had been fully apprised of the extent of the concerns about the management and rollout of this program.
However, I have also not been waiting on the outcomes of this review to start fixing these problems. The review was part of a suite of activities designed to improve the overall financial and governance performance of the department in the light of significant recent growth in the scope and size of the department's responsibilities.
As such the review's findings are a valuable input to the reforms I am in the process of rolling out across the department, and I will ensure that every recommendation is acted upon.
Many of the issues raised in the Faulkner Review have been addressed, and work is well under way to effect further reforms in order that we do our business better.
For a full breakdown of the department's reform processes underway please refer to our full response.
