Performance 2005-06 and trends
Of the $158.1m spent on suppliers under Outcome 1 in 2005-06, some $45.4m or 29% was to pay for goods and services provided by Outcome 1’s top ten providers. In 2004-05, 33% of Outcome 1 expenditure went to the top ten providers. Figure 1 shows those providers for 2005-06 and the amount paid to each.
Of the $54.2 million spent on suppliers under Outcome 2 in 2005-06, some $40.7m (75.1%) was to pay for goods and services provided by Outcome 2’s top 10 providers. In 2004-05, 63.5% of Outcome 2 expenditure went to the top ten providers. Figure 2 shows those providers in 2005-06 and the amount paid to each.
Commentary
It is not possible to compare expenditure on our top ten suppliers in 2004-05 and 2005-06, supplier by supplier, as the composition of that list has changed during this period. The majority of DEH suppliers are Australian, or expenditures on them take place in Australia.
