DEH operates across various locations on the Australian mainland, surrounding islands, and in Antarctica, with most staff based in Canberra. Only a small portion of our work takes place outside Australia, such as work regarding international environment policy negotiations.
Revenues and incomes for DEH come from the Australian Government or other Australian sources (such as a small number of fee-for-service arrangements with client agencies). The majority of DEH expenditure (including transfer payments, grants and procurements) takes place in Australia. We do not record the specific locations of payment recipients across all types of expenditures.
