Australian Antarctic Division Environmental Performance
Materials: Recycled
EN2: Percentage of materials used that are wastes
Goals 2005-06
- None set
Performance 2005-06 and trends
Nearly 91% of the printing and photocopying paper used at AAD is 100% chlorine-free recycled paper.
Commentary
There was a slight decrease (around 1%) in the proportion of recycled paper used at AAD in 2005-06. This is explained by the decrease in use of paper overall (see Indicator EN1) and the slight changes in the volumes of coloured paper and A3 paper purchased. Coloured paper and A3 paper are not readily available in recycled materials at this stage.
Goals 2006-07
- Continue to promote the use of 100% Australian recycled paper
- Investigate the use of other recycled products such as toilet paper, and stationery products (e.g. writing pads, manila folders, and envelopes).
