Performance 2005-06 and trends
Environmental considerations are incorporated in purchasing decisions, generic risk management framework and records management. AAD has an integrated Environment and Safety Incident, Hazard and Improvement Suggestion Reporting System.
Environment protection approvals administered by AAD have been integrated and streamlined along with approval and support processes for Antarctic science and non-science activities through the development of the Antarctic Applications Online (AAO) system.
Commentary
All AAD employees and participants in the Australian Antarctic Programme (AAP) have environmental roles and responsibilities that arise from the Environmental Policy and EMS.
All Head Office employees and participants in the AAP receive environmental training as part of their induction.
Goals 2006-07
- Revise the AAO to incorporate legislative amendments to Antarctic environment protection legislation and to streamline the Antarctic environment protection approvals processes before March 2007.
