At the EMS Management Review conducted in May 2006, the department decided to outsource legislative and policy compliance assessment to an external service provider, to ensure that an appropriate degree of objectivity and rigour permeates the process. This followed a preliminary assessment conducted internally that identified no current compliance concerns, conducted concurrently with a revision of the EMS Legal and Other Requirements Register.
