Performance 2005-06 and trends
Our activities do not use water in such a way as to have any significant impacts on local water sources and ecosystems/habitats.
Commentary
At Kakadu the water comes from aquifers and rainwater tanks. At Uluru there are five individual production bores that reach individual pockets of water rather than the aquifer itself.
At Norfolk Island all water used is rainwater harvested from the roof of the park office and stored in tanks.
On Christmas Island and at the Cocos (Keeling) Islands the water supply comes from aquifers under the islands.
There is no freshwater available in Pulu Keeling National Park, with visitors bringing their own water with them from the main atoll.
