Commentary
SSD has continued to promote reduced power consumption by reminding staff to switch lights and computers off when leaving at the end of the day. Air-conditioning is run on a timer and only operates from 7am to 5pm daily, unless activated by staff out of those hours. Staff using both facilities (Darwin and Jabiru) has increased by 5% during 2005-06 and is comparable to the increase in electricity use for this period.
Goals 2006-07
- Continue to raise awareness on energy saving initiatives.
