As at 30 June 2006, 73% of DEH staff were covered by the Certified Agreement (collective agreement).
At the same time, 532 (26%) DEH staff had signed an Australian Workplace Agreement (individual contract), up from 505 (25%) staff at June 2005.
The department does not retain data on staff membership of trade unions.
