B Environmental Engineering (Hons)
Growing up on the South Coast of NSW shaped my love and respect for our coasts and oceans. Moving away from the coast was definitely the hardest aspect of the move to Canberra!
Studying in lovely, laid back Wollongong, strengthened this affinity for the coast, and I spent 2002 on exchange in Canada. Such a cold yet wonderful place.
I chose to study Environmental Engineering because I wanted the skills to be able to design and implement practical solutions to environmental problems. However I embarked on this degree with the intention of eventually working in environmental policy. When the opportunity to work in policy straight away was presented to me, it seemed too good an opportunity to pass up.
My passion is water quality and usage and I find the politics associated with these issues fascinating. My hope is that by working with the Department I will have an opportunity to contribute to the protection of oh-so-many things that we all love.
