Much of the material listed on these archived web pages has been superseded, or served a particular purpose at a particular time. It may contain references to activities or policies that have no current application. Many archived documents may link to web pages that have moved or no longer exist, or may refer to other documents that are no longer available.
The pressures on existing biodiversity can be reduced if planning decisions are made with satisfactory consideration of natural resource management issues. The following tools and information can assist in this endeavour.
Restrictions on activities legitimately undertaken on privately owned land can be controlled through implementation of specific zones in planning schemes or provisions. Examples will be included on this page at a later date.
Access to Regional Environmental Plans can be gained through either Planning NSW or Austlii sites. An example of an innovative approach to the incorporation of biodiversity conservation into Local Environmental Plans can be found at Wyong Shire Council.

Information on the Northern Territory Planning Scheme, including Land Use Objectives and Incorporated Documents, can be found on the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Environment site.
Development Plans can be viewed through the Planning SA site.
Information on assorted Local government planning schemes is available on the Tasmania Online page - search for Town Planning.
The Planning Schemes page from the Department of Infrastructure provides access to all relevant planning information.
Additionally, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment provides information on Native Vegetation Retention Controls, an important tool for local government to regulate vegetation clearance.
