'Australian Ways' is a resource kit for teachers of English as a second language which focuses on ecologically sustainable development in the environment. Newcomers to Australia receive 100 hours of English language classes and Australian Ways enables them to learn about the environment at the same time.
The kit contains a selection of information and photographs arranged around six themes. These are supported with a video and audio tape, a selection of take home materials, information for teachers and student work sheets. The six themes rubbish and waste, weather and climate, places to visit, Australian plants and animals, water quality, and cleaner production convey environmental messages.
The kit has been distributed to Adult Migrant Education Services Centres.
