About the fact sheet

Introduced marine species - including fish, molluscs, crustaceans, marine plants and pathogens - threaten the world's oceans. Spread by shipping, aquaculture and trade in fish products, marine pest species can collapse fisheries, destroy aquaculture stock, foul ports, alter biodiversity and threaten human health.
