A word from the Mayor

Actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions

Community

To date Council has implemented an Energy Smart Homes Policy that involved changes to 4 residential DCPs. These policies have now been superceded by the NSW BASIX program, however the Energy Smart Guideline still provides useful information on energy smart homes to our residents.

Council also co-hosted with SEDA - (now DEUS) a solar forum to explore how greater uptake of solar could occur in the residential sector.

Travel

Council is in the process of implementing a Triple Bottom Line Fleet Policy that involves greater uptake of energy efficient vehicles. Council has two petrol/electric hybrid vehicles in its fleet.
