Wood Heaters
The Woodheater Emissions Characterisation Study, carried out by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) on behalf of the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts, seeks to characterise emissions from Australian woodheaters.
The study collected data on how criteria and toxic air pollutant emissions are affected by heater design, operating conditions and fuel wood quality. The findings will be used to target future management actions on woodsmoke.
This study was a Natural Heritage Trust initiative and the report is now available.
