Natural Gas

The fuel standard for natural gas is maintained by Standards Australia and is known as Australian Standard: 4564:2003: specification for general purpose natural gas. The standard includes a specified sulfur limit of 66 ppm (parts per million).

The Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts will review the need to lower the sulfur limit should fuel quality and emission standards specify 10ppm sulfur in 2009.
