Up to $1.2 million in funding has been made available by the Australian Government to help refrigeration and air conditioning technicians meet national licence requirements.
These requirements are aimed at reducing ozone depletion and tackling climate change.
Six projects will be funded under the Experienced Persons Licence Transition Programme to make it easier for technicians to have their skills tested for licensing in line with the Australian Government's national refrigeration and air conditioning system.
These projects will be implemented by five registered training organisations drawn from both the automotive and the refrigeration and air conditioning sectors.
The successful applicants cover a broad cross section of the country (including many of the more remote areas).
For information about authorised training organisations offering the competency based assessment go directly to the following training link at the Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) website or phone 1300 884 483.
For further information regarding the assessment process, contact the EPLTP Manager at EPLTP@environment.gov.au or, phone 02 6274 1889, at the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts.
