Family ARCTIIDAE

The subfamily classification of the Arctiidae is very uncertain. The classification adopted here is similar to those in Holloway (1988), Nielsen & Common (1991) and Scoble (1992). Three subfamilies are known from Australia, the Lithosiinae, Arctiinae and Ctenuchinae. Future studies will undoubtly change our view on this subfamily classification.
