Diagnosis

Trunk circular or discoidal in dorsal view, lateral processes short, touching or narrowly separated distally; proboscis pyriform or inflated near midpoint, with basal constriction sometimes; chelifores scape 1-segmented, chelae atrophied, without fingers; palps 5-8 segments; ovigers 10-segmented; legs short, propodus curved, with heel spines, auxiliaries usually long. Cement gland usually a single dorsodistal pore or tube.
