PHILOPTERIDAE: Austrogoniodes bifasciatus (Piaget, 1885) [recorded by Clay, T. (1967: 154) from 'Antarctica - George V Coast' on Pygoscelis adeliae (Hombron & Jacquinot, 1841) is a straggler or contaminant from Spheniscus magellanicus (Forster, 1781) from South America (Palma, R.L. in Palma & Barker (1996))].

PHILOPTERIDAE: Austrogoniodes strutheus Harrison, 1915 [recorded by Harrison (1937: 15) from 'The Nuggets, Macquarie Island' on Eudyptes sclateri Buller, 1888 is a misidentification of Austrogoniodes cristati Kéler, 1952 (one male/female pair from AM examined by compiler)].
