Family DIAPHEROMERIDAE

Introduction

The family Diaphameridae is represented in Australia by two subfamilies, 15 genera and 45 species.

Necrosciinae, a subfamily occurring mainly in South-east Asia are represented by 31 species, and Pachymorphinae, a widespread group found in the Palaearctic, Afro-tropical and Oriental to Australian Regions, including New Zealand, are represented by only four species.
