Family DICTYNIDAE O.P.-Cambridge, 1871

Introduction

The Dictynidae in Australia are relatively rare, small cribellate spiders that build webs in low vegetation.

Diagnosis

One of the least modified of all cribellate spiders with 3 claws, 8 eyes in two weakly curved rows and calamistrum (females) reduced to a few hairs; their narrow head region and the bowed chelicerae of males are characteristic.
