Introduction

Species of the family Eucalanidae are found amongst epipelagic and mesopelagic plankton communities, occurring in both oceanic and neritic waters. There are three genera, and 18 known species. See Boxshall & Halsey (2004: 115) for more details as well as a key to the genera.
