BIOLOGY

Female ovisac occurring on the stem of host plant especially in crevices of the bark. Accompanied by copious growth of sooty mold fungi (see Hoy, J.M. 1959. Species of Eriococcus Targ. (Homoptera, Coccoidea) associated with the genus Leptospermum Forst. in southeastern Australia and Tasmania. New Zealand Journal of Science 2: 1–34).

SYSTEMATICS

Slide-mounted adult female with: enlarged setae elongate, apices acute, marginal setae conspicuously longer than other dorsal setae, 2 setae on lateral margin of each abdominal segment; posterior abdominal segments nodulose dorsally (see Hoy, J.M. 1959.
