Family GNATHOPHAUSIIDAE Udrescu, 1984
Introduction
The Gnathophausiidae are a small family of two genera and 10 species (Meland 2002). Both genera and three species are known from Australian waters. Müller (1993) catalogued the family.
Diagnosis
Rostrum elongate (spear-shaped, three-edged, and triangular in cross section). Antenna 2 scale with apical or without apical suture, outer margin serrated, without setae. Maxilla 1 endopod with two articles. Uropod exopod with distal articulation. (Generated from Meland 2002)
