SYSTEMATICS

The holotype of both Amorphococcus leptospermi Morrison & Morrison, 1927 and Gallinococcus ferrisi Lambdin & Kosztarab, 1973 is the same single specimen, deposited in USNM, and labelled in red ink "Amorphococcus leptospermi /n.sp./Holotype/HM." in black ink "8480/ Sphaerococcus/ leptospermi Masl./on/ Leptospermum /N.S.W/W.W. Froggatt" in pencil "40358/B". The right label is not original and labelled, in pencil, "Leptospermi /associated with Lecanodiaspis /H.M. March 11,/1952" and in ink "Gallinococcus/ferrisi n. sp./Det Lambdin & Krb."
