Introduction

This species has been recorded on a range of wattles, Acacia (Fabaceae), along the Great Dividing Range of eastern Australia from the wet tropics of North Queensland to Mt Kaputar in northern New South Wales. The distribution map given by Constant (2005) includes records from the New South Wales southern slopes and north coast but the material examined does not include specimens from these regions. The southern distribution of the species therefore needs to be confirmed. Constant (2005) provides some notes on the biology of the species, primarily originating from observations by the Chew family of Brisbane. This includes the suggestion that the colouration of the frons may be mimicry of small jumping spiders (Family Salticidae).
