  • Hamondiidae Huys, R. 1990. A new harpacticoid copepod family collected from Australian sponges and the status of the subfamily Rhynchothalestrinae Lang. Journal of the Linnean Society of London, Zoology 99: 51-115 [54].
    Type genus:
     Hamondia Huys, 1990.

Introduction

There are three genera and fours species contained in the family Hamondiidae. The one species recorded for Australia, Hamondia superba, has been found in association with a sponge, while the other species are predominantly phytal (Boxshall & Halsey 2004). Although Willen (2000) treated the Hamondiidae and the Ambunguipedidae as synonyms of the Rhyncothalestridae Lang, 1948, Boxshall and Halsey (2004) did not adopt this synonymy.
