    Type species:
Olonia viridiventris Stål, 1863 by original designation.

Introduction

This monotypic genus was created to include a species excluded from its original genus Olonia Stål by Constant (2006). The species ranges down the eastern seaboard of Australia from SE Queensland to the Sydney region in NSW. The species, along with those in related genera, appears to be associated primarily if not exclusively with broad-phyllodinous wattles (Acacia spp, family Mimosaceae). The etymology for the generic name was given by Constant 92006) as "Name formed by the juxtaposition of the words Hacker, in memory of the late Henry Hacker who published his interesting field notes on Australian Eurybrachidae in 1924, and brachys (Greek word meaning “short”) which is a common ending of the names of the genera among the family Eurybrachidae."
