Introduction
Of the family Jacobsoniidae, Háva and Löbl (2005) state 'It includes 3 genera: Sarothrias Grouvelle, 1918, Saphophagus Sharp, 1886 and Derolathrus Sharp in Sharp & Scott, 1908 with 21 known species worldwide. All species are poorly represented in collections and little is known about their biology'.
Two genera, each with one species are recorded here for Australia, however, one is an undescribed species. Lawrence and Britton (1991: 641) note that 'Derolathrines have been seen from Norfolk I., Lord Howe I., Christmas I. and various parts of Qld, the A.C.T. and S.A.'
