  • Osmylus incisus McLachlan, R. 1863. On some new species of neuropterous insects from Australia and New Zealand, belonging to the family Hemerobiidae. Journal of Entomology Lond. 2: 111-116 [112].
    Type data:
     Lectotype BMNH ♂, Auckland, New Zealand.
    Paralectotype(s) BMNH 2♂ 1 adult.
    Subsequent designation references:
    Kimmins, D.E. 1940. A revision of the osmylid subfamilies Stenosmylinae and Kalosmylinae (Neuroptera). Novitates Zoologicae 42: 165-201 [191].

Extra Distribution Information

Recorded from two damaged specimens (NMV) labelled 'Queensland' but provenance unconfirmed, identity not confirmed because of lack of abdomens, also New Zealand.
