Introduction
The Libellaginidae formerly known as Chlorocyphidae, which contains some 16 genera and more than 120 species (Davies 1981; Bridges 1994), is confined to the Old World. Only one species has been recorded from Australia, but there are no recent records.
Diagnosis
Adult: primary antenodal crossveins distinct, plus secondary antenodals, sometimes numerous, costal and subcostal segments not strictly aligned; postnodal crossveins not aligned with veins behind them; discoidal cells traversed by crossveins; median space free; clypeus projecting forwards into broad snout.
Larva: labium flat, labial palps narrow with major setae near base, median lobe triangular, cleft; lateral gills slender, triquetral, median gill a short, stout spine.
