Introduction
Lourimidae is a monotypic family. The single species (Lourinia armata) has been collected from benthic samples and washings of seaweed in the Indo-west Pacific, the Mediterranean and off Bermuda (Boxshall & Halsey 2004). Lourinia armata has also been found in South Australia and Western Australia (Nicholls 1941, 1945).
