Introduction

The Mygalomorphae are the early spiders and considered the sister group of the Araneomorphae. They are burrowers and trapdoor builders in which the fang action is vertical or diagonally transverse and there are 2 pairs of booklungs.

Diagnosis

Spiders with paraxial fangs, two pairs of book lungs, terminal posterior lateral spinnerets much larger than anterior laterals and abdomen lacking external segmentation.
