Compiler and date details
30 June 2005 - M. Elliott, Australian Museum, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, and ABRS, Canberra, ACT.
Introduction
Division or Infraorder Orthorrhapha is used here as a grouping for several superfamilies of bracyceran flies with a simple, obtect pupa (see CSIRO 1991). While all taxa represented in Australia in the Stratiomyoidea, Tabanoidea, Bombylioidea and Xylophagoidea are included, the Asiloidea and Empidoidea are, as yet, incomplete.
