Zeitschrift der Wiener Entomologischen Gesellschaft 28: 205–208, 217–224, 264–265 both incorrectly synonymized Opisthoscelis subrotunda with O. globosa Rübsaamen. The status of these species is confused and further study is needed.
STRUCTURE
Species induces green galls, usually perfectly round. Male gall is much smaller, but resembles that of female. Adult scale reddish yellow to brown, covered with fine close hairs and white meal, almost round (see Froggatt, W.W. 1921. A descriptive catalogue of the scale insects (Coccidae) of Australia.
