Introduction

The body shape of species in this family varies from cyclopiform to cylindrical. There are currently 13 genera contained in this family (see Boxshall & Halsey 2004). Over 80% of the known species are interstitial (Boxshall & Halsey 2004). Two species in separate genera are recorded for Australia.
