Family PARANYBELINIIDAE Schmidt, 1970

Introduction

This small family of uncertain affinities is known only from plerocerci (larval stages), most of them collected from plankton. The single species reported here has teleosts as intermediate hosts. The family is characterised by an homeoacanthous armature and the possession of bothridial pits on the margins of the paired bothridia.
