Family PTEROBOTHRIIDAE Pintner, 1931
Introduction
The Pterobothriidae are characterised by four pedicellate bothridia and a tentacular armature comprising five hooks in each principal row (Campbell & Beveridge 1994). A band of hooklets may or may not be present on the external surface of the tentacle The family has a cosmopolitan distribution and was reviewed by Campbell & Beveridge (1996). Four species are listed here for Australia.
