     Chauliodes cinerascens Blanchard, 1851 by original designation.
  • Austrochauliodes Riek, E.F. 1954. The Australian Megaloptera or alder-flies. Australian Journal of Zoology 2: 131-142 pl. 1 [May 1954] [Theischinger, G. 1983. The adults of the Australian Megaloptera. Aquatic Insects 5: 77–98 states Austrochauliodes was erected by Riek (1954), with Hermes dubitatus Walker, 1853 indicated as the type-species; believing that H. dubitatus was an Australian species, however, Riek defined Austrochauliodes de facto from Australian material similar to H. dubitatus and identical with Protochauliodes biconicus Kimmins, 1954, which had not been described then].
