   Pseudomys australis Gray, 1832 by monotypy.

   Mus nanus Gould, 1858 (=Pseudomys (Thetomys) nanus (Gould, 1858)) by original designation.
• Gyomys Thomas, O. 1910. The generic arrangement of the Australian murines hitherto referred to 'Mus.'. Annals and Magazine of Natural History 8 6: 603-607 [607] [originally made available as a subgenus of Pseudomys Gray, 1832].

  Type species:

   Mus novaehollandiae Waterhouse, 1843 (=Pseudomys (Gyomys) novaehollandiae (Waterhouse, 1843)) by original designation.
