    Type species:
     Caecilius hirtellus McLachlan, 1877 by subsequent designation, see Roesler, R. 1944. Die Gattungen der Copeognathen. Stettiner Entomologische Zeitung 105: 117-166 [152] (refers to Trichopsocus hirtellus (McLachlan) as the type species; this appears to be the earliest reference to a type species for this genus)
