About the nomination

A review was undertaken of the 'Bluegrass (Dichanthium spp.) dominant grasslands of the Brigalow Belt Bioregions (North and South)' ecological community that was listed as endangered under the EPBC Act on the 4th of April 2001. Following this review of nomination was drawn up for the 'Native Grassland on Basalt and Alluvium of the Brigalow Belt North Bioregion and the Claude River Downs' ecological community.

Please note

The Committee welcomes the views of experts, stakeholders and the general public on this nomination, and the technical workshop report, to further inform its nomination assessment process. To assist in this matter, the Committee has identified a series of specific questions on which it seeks particular guidance. These are at the end of the technical workshop report.

Information in this nomination and the workshop report, as well as other information received by the Department, will be used by the Committee to advise the Minister for the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts on amendments to the list of threatened ecological communities under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act 1999.

The public comment period closes on 6 May 2008.
