About the plan
The Purple Eyebright Euphrasia collina subspecies muelleri is listed as Endangered under the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, and is listed as threatened under the Victorian Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act 1988. It is endemic to southeastern Australia, where it was once widely distributed from northern NSW through Victoria to the southern portion of the Flinders Ranges in South Australia. However, the Purple Eyebright has suffered a substantial decline in range and abundance, and has become extinct throughout a substantial proportion of its range. It now survives in only a few widely separated localities in Victoria, where there are fewer than 1,500 plants remaining in about 10 wild populations. Major threats include altered fire regimes, weed invasion and grazing.
