About the plan

The Gouldian Finch (Erythrura gouldiae) is listed as endangered under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. Formerly ranging from Cape York Peninsula in Queensland, through the northern half of the Northern Territory, to the Kimberley region in Western Australia, Gouldian Finches were once believed to be amongst the most common finches of the region. This plan outlines the measures necessary to ensure recovery of the species and an improvement in its conservation status over the longer term.
