About the plan

The Hastings River Mouse (Pseudomys oralis) (Thomas 1921) is restricted in distribution to the upland open forests and woodlands with grass, heath or sedge understorey in north-east New South Wales (NSW) and south-east Queensland (Qld). This document constitutes the formal National and State Recovery Plan for the Hastings River Mouse, and, as such, considers the requirements of the species across its known range. It identifies the actions to be taken to ensure the long-term viability of the Hastings River Mouse in nature and the parties who will undertake these actions. Attainment of the Recovery Plan’s objectives will be subject to budgetary and other constraints affecting the parties involved.
