Summary
Conostylis rogeri was declared as Rare Flora under the Western Australian Wildlife Conservation Act 1950 in 1987 and is ranked as Vulnerable under World Conservation Union (IUCN 2001) Red List criterion D2, based on the species being found over a very narrow geographical range with an area of occupancy that is less than 20 km2.
The main threats are inappropriate fire regimes, fragmentation of natural habitat, weed invasion, grazing, firebreak maintenance and the lack of biological information.
The species is listed as Vulnerable under the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).
This interim recovery plan will operate from April 2008 to March 2013 but will remain in force until withdrawn or replaced. It is intended that, if the taxon is still ranked Vulnerable, this interim recovery plan will be reviewed after five years and the need for further recovery actions assessed.
