The Grassland Earless Dragon, Tympanocryptis pinguicolla, is generally recognised as endangered (see Appendix A for further details). It is listed as threatened under the following international, Commonwealth, state and territory legislation and documentation: IUCN (1996); Biodiversity Act (1999); Action Plan for Australian Reptiles (Cogger et al. 1993); Section 21 of the Nature Conservation Act 1980 (ACT); Schedule 6 of the Nature Conservation Act 1980 (ACT); Schedule 1 of the Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995 (NSW); Schedule 2 of the Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act 1988 (Vic).
