Advice to the Minister for the Environment and Heritage from the Threatened Species Scientific Committee (TSSC) on Amendments to the list of Threatened Species under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act)

Pied Currawong (western Victoria) occurs in South-western Victoria. It is not listed under the EPBC Act or Victorian legislation.

3. How judged by TSSC in relation to the EPBC Act criteria

TSSC judges the Pied Currawong (western Victoria) to be not eligible for listing under the EPBC Act.

4. Conclusion

TSSC recommends that the Pied Currawong (western Victoria) not be listed as threatened at this time as there is insufficient information to support the identification of the Pied Currawong (western Victoria) as a distinct species for the purposes of the EPBC Act.

5. Recommendation

TSSC recommends that the species Strepera graculina ashbyi (Pied Currawong (western Victoria)) is not eligible for inclusion in the list referred to in section 178 of the EPBC Act.
